This project was to create an identity system for Shortfest. The annual short film festival is hosted by the Palm Springs International Film Society. The concept uses cinematography attributes, both seen and unseen, to illustrate influences of traditional filmmaking going beyond the screen. Large typography bleeds off the page and mimics the physical splicing or editing of the medium. The high contrast black and white color scheme demands visibility while emulating physical film negatives.
